2 apples weigh the same as a cherry and a banana. A banana=9 2 doesn't go into 9 so you add another cherry so its 10. 2 goes into 10 5 times so the answer is 5

is that the answer i dont really understand how you can add one if it is already set that there are 9 cherries, so wouldnt there have to be a remainder.
So if 9 cherries= 1 banana and 2 apples equal 1 banana and 1 cherry that would mean that 2 apples equal 10 cherries which can be simplified to 1 apple= 5 cherries
it might be 4.5 because a bannana (1) and a cherry (9) would equal ten. so the you can divide 9 by 2. The problem also says that they want to know how many CHERRIES would equal one apple, not how many bannanas and cherries would equal 1 apple
So if nine cherries= 1 banana and 2 apples equal 1 banana and 1 cherry then those added together just using cherries would equal 10 cherries which diveided by 2 equals 5

i must say this is a quite hard question
I think the way to solve this problem is guess and check
leslie ur supposed to find a pattern and work together not blurt out the answer
Guess and check would work.
How about some type of equation?
Here...I'll start you off.
2A = B + C and...B = 9C so, 2A = ????
I think the answer is 5
does apple= cherry+bannana or does apple=cherry and the apple would equal bannana
Nate- how can you arrive at the answer????
Ethan -
2 apples = 1 banana + 1 cherry
banana = 9 cherries
i agree with nate i think its five because i guessed and checked and also used the equation and when i tried A as 5 B as 9 and C as one it worked

GOOD THINKING, RJ. Your explanation is so clear. I hope it helps some of your classmates!
Well, guys?

ok cmon ethan we all no the answer is five and u use ges and check unless mrs. cooper says were rong of coarse but i really think 5 is the answer
good job andrew thank u for provong my point u deserve a pat on the bak
also i posted my last comment at 7:47 and the thing says 4:47 so the clock must be behind by 3 hours
thanks ben
I agree with Nate and R.J.
2 apples equals 10 cherries, so then you divide 10 by 2 and find that 1 apple equals 5 cherries.
